This will be a practical based 3 day course designed for individuals who will be participating in wilderness activities within hours or days of advanced medical care. The course will enable participants to have an appreciation for the realities of providing First Aid in a Wilderness/ Remote Environment.

Emphasis will be on practical skills, decision making and dealing with the outdoors. Come prepared to be outdoors given the time of year. 70% or more of the course will be outside, hands on, and scenario based.  The evening work places folks in woods, in the dark for scenario purposes.

Registration includes a “suggested” list of what to bring. The idea is to bring what you would normally have with you in your outdoor wilderness pursuits and to see how you would use it in a First Aid  situation. Mock First Aid kits will be provided for the course – you can bring yours for comparison and personal needs.

This is a very active and experiential approach to learning. Come prepared for lots of physical and mental energy.
