SeaLight SkyLight Festival

SeaLight SkyLight is back! We are relaunching this signature Deanery Project event Saturday, August 12th from 1:00-11:00pm!

This wonderful all ages event is planned around the peak of the Perseid meteor showers, and prime time for ocean bioluminescence in Lower Ship Harbour. Join us to celebrate nature with live music, interactive science activities, Indigenous knowledge sharing, eco-art workshops, day & night sky observation, kids games & activities, astronomy presentations and more!

Main stage is emceed by Lil MacPherson, with local musicians T. Thomason, Linda McLean, Jenny Lapp, Greg Hughes, We Are A Fire and many more! Community partners joining us for workshops and presentations include the Halifax Planetarium, LIFE as Medicine, HRM Recreation, HOPE for Wildlife, and artists Dede Whitten and Jennifer MacLatchy. A magical lantern walk though the forest to the oceanfront takes place after dark.

Noor’s Mediterranean Kitchen will have yummy food for purchase or bring a picnic! Some seating is available, but we encourage folks to bring blankets or camp chairs.
