Summer Camps – Energize! July 9-13 & August 20-24, 2018
Energize’ is a week of hands-on learning and fun for youth aged 8- 12. Days are filled with exploration of renewable power sources, using our environment for art & food, and bike adventures!
Our camps offer unique learning opportunities about the environment, and how they relate to energy that we use every day. It also provides creative opportunities to learn about renewable energy, energy that comes from our bodies, and energy that we feel when we go outdoors.

ENERGIZE Daily Themes
Monday: Starting off the week right, with a bike! This theme will explore how our bodies can be used to produce energy as well as a mode of transportation. Highlights include: using our bike-powered smoothie maker, bike safety, bike repairs, bike art, and of course bike riding for both beginners and experienced riders.
Tuesday: We will be learning about, and playing with, wind energy. Highlights include: wind turbine model building, wind experiments, outdoor and indoor activities, and ‘energy’ games.
Wednesday: Soaking up solar energy, on both mini and large scales. This theme will build on participants knowledge of renewable energy. Highlights include: solar experiments, ways to measure energy, outdoor and indoor activities, and ‘energy’ games.
Thursday: Art and nature will be the focus of this day. We will be connecting with and using the environment around us to create, listen, and observe art through nature. Highlights include: outdoor and indoor activities, theatre and sound games, and using nature in art.
Friday: Fantastic foodie fun! This theme will concentrate on gardens & food sovereignty, food as energy, outdoor & indoor activities. *Note: we will be making a shared meal in our pizza oven.

12.45 – 1.00 pm – Free time, explore!

2.30 -2.45 pm – Free time, explore!
2.45 – 3.30 pm – Activity #3
3.30 – 4.00 pm – Check-in & check-out games
4.00pm – Pick up
