Sonia’s goal for ELEKTROSHIBAI is “to encourage storytelling and personal interaction in public spaces as a way to share and connect, and build stronger communities.”

Sonia Chow is an interdisciplinary designer/artist. Her work interrogates communication and codes, identity, tactile objects and the exploration of process and materials. From 2002 to 2018, she studied and worked as designer, art director and creative director in Tokyo and Hong Kong, and was event curator and organizer for PechaKucha Night Hong Kong from 2012 to 2017. She is a 2019 recipient of the SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier CGS Master’s Scholarship and current MFA student. She lives in Halifax with her partner, Huschang Pourian, and their cat.
