More of the Shore – Episode 1 Link
In Dec 2017 – Feb 2018 Rachel Bruch & Kurtis McAllister joined the Deanery Project as Artists in Residence. During their two months on site they produced a wonderful Sound Map of the property, and developed a strong appreciation of the goals and vision of the organization, and the local arts community.
This experience translated into a Pod Cast project to connect rural and urban musicians, celebrating their work through stories and song. The 4 podcasts they created were supported by Nova Scotia’s Dept. of Communities, Culture and Heritage and the Deanery. Each Episode was launched at a cozy “Listening Party” hosted at the Deanery and powered by solar energy from the Deanery’s mobile solar array.
Episode 1 featured music and musings by musicians Anna Wedlock, Colin Campbell, Greg Hughes and Kate Campbell. Conversations with Kurtis dug into their processes, influences and styles.
