Paddle Canada Level 1 Kayak Course at the Deanery!

Our friend Jenn MacLatchy is returning to the Deanery this June to instruct a Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Level 1 course!

This is a two-day course that focuses on strokes, re-entry (rescue) techniques, and the skills required to safely plan and execute a day trip with friends of similar skill level, including navigation, weather interpretation, and proper clothing and gear.

Weekend options are: May 31 – June 1 OR June 7 – 8

Duration: 9am – 5pm both days.

Price: $250 + $105 Kayak rental (if applicable)

No previous training is required, but participants should already be comfortable in a kayak (send Jenn an email if you are wondering if this course is for you!)

Options:
Rent a kayak and gear ($105) OR bring your own.

If bringing your own sea kayak, you will also need:
– Spray skirt
– Transport Canada approved PFD, with whistle attached
– Paddle
– Pump or bailer
– 15m of buoyant line
– Optional: compass and paddle float
