Sadly Stretching, Scoring, Staging has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are closely monitoring Public Health recommendations as to when Deanery programming might resume and will post new dates at that time.
Meanwhile, the Deanery is actively exploring ways in which we can support our Eastern Shore community in these quickly changing, challenging times! Stay safe!
STRETCHING, SCORING, STAGING – Applications Open!
May 16 – 18, 2020 the Deanery will host a three day workshop/residency with Craig Leonard and Jacinte Armstrong. Eight artists, from varying disciplines, will be chosen to explore the making of site-responsive installations and performances.
Process will be emphasized over product, and facilitators will focus on development of skills for both individual and group creation of installation and performance. Participants will move through led exercises, scores for performance, and improvisations with objects, movement, and the surrounding environment. There will be a public event on the final day or evening.
The workshop will be structured by the facilitators, but will also include discoveries emerging from the group. Artists with or without formal artistic training are encouraged to apply. Open-mindedness and generosity are considered assets.
Thanks to generous support from the Robert Pope Foundation, the workshop is fully funded for successful applicants. Participants will share a daily blog of the retreat on the Deanery website.
Applications are due April 1. Apply here
