In the sea, phosphorescent algae are an annual phenomenon here on the Eastern Shore that is seldom celebrated. Leave glowing footprints on the beach and watch as the ripples sparkle when your hand touches the water. Come find out what’s behind the twinkling lights on the waves.

In the sky watch as the Perseid meteor shower reaches it peak for 2013. The meteor shower peaked in 2009 with over 170 meteors in an hour. Learn about what causes it, the age of the meteors, their connection to the Swift-Tuttle comet, and more. Discover other wonders of the sky through telescopes and the magic of storytelling in relation to travellers and philosophers.
